Use this Italian-style tomato sauce as a base for pizzas, lasagna, soups, etc.
Ingredients:
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups of fresh red tomatoes puree (San Marzano, Roma, Campari, Brandywine, Beefstake or Plum variety) or 1 can (28 oz.) whole peeled tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tbsp. dry basil
- 1 tbsp. dry garlic in powder
- 1 tsp. dry onion
- 1 tbsp. salt
- a pinch of pepper
- 4 tbsp. olive oil
Preparation:
In a sauce pan at medium heat fry the minced garlic with the olive oil for about 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, dry basil, garlic in powder, dry onion, salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 10 more minutes.
